Chateau of Langeais

Langeais includes two exceptional chateaux: Foulques Nerra’s tower and Louis 11th castle. The first one is France’s oldest keep, when the second one shows two faces, feudal facing the town, and Renaissance facing the courtyard.

The château offers real treasures showing the splendor of a seigniorial mansion: chests, tapestries, sideboards, thrones and marvelous tiles decorate the dwelling’s rooms… The interiors visit allows to discover the daily life in the Middle-Ages.

The History of France has a place too with a very important wedding. Within these very rooms, on December 6th 1491, the wedding of Charles 8th and Anne de Bretagne took place, and marked the duchy’s unification to the French Kingdom.
