three-day trip: Discover the French History

DAY 1

  • 11 am : Guided tour of the fortress of Montbazon  The medieval crafts

This emblematic caslte from the Middle Ages opens its gates to the youngest and teaches them History through numerous workshops. Follow the knight throughout the different places, and learn all the crafts of this period. 

  • 12:30 pm : Picnic lunch
  • 14 pm : Workshops at the fortress of Montbazon

The potter, the basket maker, the weaver, the dyer, the tailor, the calligrapher, the illuminator, the coin engraver, the candle maker, the blacksmith, the saddler, the stone carver, the herbalist, the shingler, the baker and the crossbowman will welcome you in their workshops, choose between 2 of them.

  • 1 night in collective accomodation in full pension

 

DAY 2

  • 10 am : Costumed guided tour of the Clos Lucé with Mathurine, the maid of Leonardo Da Vinci 

As his faithful maid and cook, Mathurine knows every little secret of Leonardo Da Vinci and takes you into his last home, telling you more about the life of this great genius. A door opened onto a part of our history.

  • 12 pm : Picnic lunch, provided by the accomodation

 

  • 14:30 pm : Guided tour and workshop at the Château of Beauregard

Follow your guide in the amazing portrait gallery of most of the French kings. Then, pupils will take part to a worshop: turned into historical investigators, they will have to look for all the 327 portraits hiden all over the park of the Château.

OR

  • 14:30 pm : Guided tour and workshop at Fougère-sur-Bièvre Château

A well conserved fortified castle, built in the XV century. Then, pupils will take part to a workshop about the differents games at this time.

  • 1 night in collective accomodation in full pension

 

DAY 3

  • 10 am : Guided tour of the Château of Chambord 

The château of Chambord is an exceptional architectural creation that draws its inspiration from the French tradition as much as from the new ideas of the Italian Renaissance. 

  • Picnic lunch provided by the accomodation
