Two-day tour : From the middle-ages to the Renaissance in the Loire Valley


DAY 1

  • 10 am : Guided tour and educational workshops at the Royal City of Loches (keep and royal dwelling)

As an old prison turned into a royal dwelling, the keep of Loches offers an immersion into the reality of the daily life in the middle-ages. The perfect setting to learn more about the life of knights, lords and prisoners of the year one thousand.

  • 1.00 pm : Picnic lunch


  • 3.00 pm : Guided tour of the Royal Chateau of Amboise

As the first château influenced by the Renaissance, Amboise is the perfect example of the transition between the defensive style of the middle-ages and the elegant shapes of a new style born in Italy.

DAY 2

  • 9.30 am : Costumed guided tour of the Clos Lucé with Mathurine, the maid of Leonardo Da Vinci

As his faithful maid and cook, Mathurine knows every little secret of Leonardo Da Vinci and takes you into his last home, telling you more about the life of this great genius. A door opened onto a part of our history.

  • 12 pm : Picnic lunch in the park of the Clos Lucé

 

  • 2.30 pm : Guided tour and educational workshops at the Chateau of Chambord
