This year for Christmas, Amboise invites you to meet the child in you ! Santa Claus has barely laid all of his presents that the town is full of gifts. The streets in the old town light up with hundreds of lights, decorated trees invade stores and shops and the castles fill up with numerous toys and games.
HRH King Teddy Bear
How not to start with his royal highness King Teddy Bear ! He has taken the king’s spot on the throne at the Royal Castle of Amboise. Hundreds of teddy bears have invaded the king’s residence, hiding in some unexpected corners! The impressive Italian creche is also back into the Council Hall. And as a highlight, tasting of epiphany cakes on January 2nd.
Christmas and orange trees
For the first time in its history, the Royal Domain of Chateau Gaillard welcomes visitors during the Christmas season. Decorations and lights have invaded each room of the castle, as well as a gigantic Christmas tree. The sound of the most beautiful Christmas carols take you from room to room. In the former kitchens, there is nice smell of mulled wine and gingerbread. Perfect to put on you back onto your feet and visit the gardens. For young visitors, a Christmas tale is played everyday at 3.00 pm (in French).

Leonardo da Vinci’s last home is wearing its most beautiful outfit, and the table is ready in the dining room. Just wonderful! Until December 31st, initiate yourself to the making of Christmas wreaths and go home with your homemade creation.
