The chateaux and restaurants have all reopened and the 2021 season has started for good. With all we’ve been through in the past 18 months, it feels like being free again! Nestled between the shores of river Loire and the deep forest, Amboise is the perfect location to discover the Loire Valley. And above all, to rediscover some lost sensations. Great air, the wish to discover new places, the taste of local food, the feeling of outdoor activities… Need more to be convinced?
Visit the Loire Chateaux and make some new experiences in the Loire Valley:
The Loire Valley chateaux, gardens, parks, zoos and cultural activities are all open and accessible this summer.
From July 21st, accessing any of these activities (chateaux, monuments, zoos, parks, gardens…) requires showing a Green Pass = proof of vaccination or negative COVID-test for all visitors aged 18 and above. From September 30th, children from 12 years old are also required to show a Green Pass:
= full vaccination (7 days since the second shot for vaccines Pfizer, Moderna and Astra Zeneca and 4 weeks since the Janssen).
= negative PCR/antigenic test under 72 hours
= certificate of recovery dated more than 11 days and less than 6 months prior to the date of arrival. A certificate of recovery is a document issued to persons who have contracted COVID-19, upon presentation of a positive RT-PCR or antigenic test
A test-centre for PCR-antigenic tests is open on salle Molière, located avenue des Martyrs de la Résistance from Monday to Friday (10.00 am – 12.45 pm / 2.00 pm – 3.45 pm) and on Saturday (9.00 am – 12.45 pm). These tests are free for French nationals and have to be paid for international visitors.
The reservation of a time slot is mandatory if you wish to visit the chateau of Chenonceau. It is highly recommended to visit the Clos Lucé. For all the other chateaux, tickets can be purchased on site or at the Tourist Office Amboise.
The Tourist Office Amboise Loire Valley is open in October Monday through Saturday 9.30 am – 1.00 pm / 2.00 pm – 6.00 pm and on Sunday 10.00 am – 1.00 pm / 2.00 pm – 5.00 pm.
