As usual, Amboise is getting prepared for the most wonderful time of the year! But this year more than ever, Christmas in Amboise means wonders! Here is our selection of the finest events planned in Amboise for the Christmas season.

What’s on in the town?

Drones Light show
Get ready for an extraordinary Light Show on Saturday December 18th. One hundred drones will fly above the Loire and illuminate the Amboise sky. Shaped as Christmas trees or Santa, thousands of lights will give life to several iconic characters. A breathtaking show that should not be missed!
Saturday December 18th, 6.00 pm – Banks of river Loire

Christmas Market
From Friday December 17th, the quai du général de Gaulle fills up with producers and craftsmen with their finest production and creations. Oysters, foie gras, gingerbread, flowers and wooden toys… Great ideas for your christmas tables and gifts!
Friday 17th (2.00-7.00pm), Saturday 18th (10.00 am-8.00 pm) and Sunday 19th December (10.00 am-6.00pm)  – espace Henri d’Orléans and quai du général de Gaulle

Truffles and saffron market
Come and meet the truffles and saffron producers of Touraine. Amboise chefs will prepare and offer tasting of these exceptional jewels, but also provide you with simple recipes to accommodate them at home.

Concert of the symphonic orchestra Centre-Val de Loire-Tours
Exceptional musicians for an exceptional program around Mozart and Beethoven. Don’t forget to reserve your tickets!

What’s on the chateaux ?

Domaine Royal de Château Gaillard
It’s Christmas of the golden apple in the kingdom of orange trees! Dom Pacello’s residence turns into Santa’s sack with Teddy bears and decorations in abundance. At the Comptoir des Agrumes, enjoy some fine orange-flavored delicacies and comforting hot wine.

Did Leonardo da Vinci celebrate Christmas? His last home does anyway, with fine decorations in each room and wonderful flower arrangements!

Royal chateau of Amboisenoel au pays des chateaux amboise
It’s Noël au Pays des Châteaux! This year, the kings’ white dreams take up each room with enchanting and magnificent scenes! A magical atmosphere likely to trigger magical dreams.

The very special tours of the Amboise Tourist Office

Two brand new guided tours are planned for this Christmas season.
Célestine, Santa’s assistant, has stopped in Amboise! Meet her at the royal chateau of Amboise on December 21st, 22nd, 29th and 30th at 4.30 pm to find out about Christmas traditions in the Renaissance. And if enjoyed her company, follow her through the illuminated streets of Amboise on December 20th, 23rd, 27th and 28th at 4.300 for her tour “Fééries de noël”.
And do not forget the worldwide famous Mathurine, Leonardo da Vinci’s maid and cook at the chateau du Clos Lucé. A sparkling tour full of stories about Da Vinci’s daily life in Amboise. Monday through Friday from December 20th to 31st at 10.30 am and 2.15 pm.
